With little under a month to go, the marketing for Suicide Squad is certainly starting to heat up. Countless posters, interviews and details regarding the next release in DC’s slate are bombarding the internet, and Entertainment Weekly is getting in on the act.
Taking place after the events of Batman V Superman, high ranking government official Amanda Waller aims to set up a team to take on any new alien threat that comes earth’s way. The trick is that this team will not be made up by your typical “good guys”. With possessed archaeologist Enchantress first on her list, Waller goes on to make a team filled with the baddest of the bad. While her attempts to build the team are initially rebuffed, a “mystical” threat to Midway City means she must put her plan into action and release the likes of Harley Quinn (Margo Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith) and Boomerang (Jai Courtney).
With this new plot information and images released by Entertainment Weekly, it’s difficult not to get excited about the film. Batman being involved with proceedings is just the icing on the cake.
