From Cryptozoic:
WARNER BROS. CONSUMER PRODUCTS AND DC ENTERTAINMENT HAVE TEAMED UP WITH CRYPTOZOIC ENTERTAINMENT TO OFFER ALL-NEW DC COMICS DECK-BUILDING GAME
The biggest names in the DC Comics universe are ready for battle
Irvine, CA. June 29, 2012—Leading into Comic-Con International: San Diego, Cryptozoic Entertainment™, the premier developer of original and licensed games including The Walking Dead Board Game and Locke & Key: The Game, and under a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products in partnership with DC Entertainment, today announced an all-new deck-building game based in the DC Comics universe. The DC Comics Deck-building Game will offer exciting gameplay for both comics and gaming fans, allowing them to play as the marquee characters they know and love.
Launching this summer, Cryptozoic’s DC Comics Deck-building Game will boast art straight from the hit comics, including DC Comics Super Heroes and DC Comics Villains such as Superman, Batman, The Joker, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Darkseid, Lex Luthor and many more. The amazing card mechanics give new depth to fan-favorite DC Comics Super Heroes and Villains, allowing them new equipment and superpowers. Plus, hundreds of potential card combinations and deep deck-building mechanics keep the DC Comics game fresh and exciting for each and every play.
“DC Comics has such a robust super hero universe; it’s perfect for a deck-building game that brings fans into the action and lets them play their favorite characters,” said Cory Jones, president and chief creative officer at Cryptozoic. “Combining the long history of the DC Comics universe with engaging gameplay has resulted in a game that will be a hit this summer and beyond.”
Cryptozoic’s DC Comics Deck-building Game is easy to learn and quick to play, offering incredible fun for two to five players. Each player chooses their Super Hero and builds their deck around that Super Hero. The cards available to add to each player’s deck are ever-changing, so each game offers interesting decisions and on-the-fly planning. At the end of the game, the player with the most victory points— based on the cards that player has acquired during the game— is the winner!
