Last month, we reported the news that Ben Affleck had written a script for a standalone Batman film, but yesterday we got confirmation at CinemaCon that the Oscar winner will also be directing said feature.
Warner Bros. chief executive Kevin Tsujihara announced how much he was looking forward to working with the “actor and filmmaker” on the project, and later went on to reveal each DC film along with their respective director, which included Affleck along with the Batman solo feature.
Warner Bros. have certainly not let the modest if disappointing Box Office numbers dampen their enthusiasm for the DCEU. Only last week two new dates were announced for the universe and this CinemaCon news has only helped cement the studio’s commitment to the franchise.
