With that headline, you may be thinking that I mean between Chris Nolan and Warner Bros., but not so.
The LA Times posted a story today that describes a possible feud between Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. Both Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures had a fifty percent stake in The Dark Knight Rises, it appears that Warner Bros. is trying to renegotiate the terms of the stakes in The Dark Knight Rises.
Some may think that this has to do with the rumored $250 million budget for The Dark Knight Rises. But it may not. According to the article, Warner Bros. seems to be slightly concerned with the finality of the Harry Potter series and wants larger stakes in future films that they plan on expanding on. With the news earlier this year about WB wanting to have a Justice League film out by 2013, money needs to be made.
While The Dark Knight Rises will surely make plenty of money, Warner Bros. wants a bigger stake, specifically because a larger stake means larger return. The budget for the film has been thrown around, but I don't think it has anything to do with it. Everyone involved wants Nolan to make the film and they all know it is a pretty solid investment. But because of that, some want more than before.
