For years, Batman co-creator Bill Finger received no credit for his large contributions to the development of the character alongside Bob Kane. In fact, it wasn’t until 2015 that Finger received a credit in comics featuring the Dark Knight followed in 2016 with his name in the credits of film and television. The creator is now receiving another accolade as a street in New York City has been renamed for Finger. East 192nd Street and the Grand Concourse have been dubbed “Bill Finger Way” at an event that featured Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy and Finger biography author Mark Tyler Nobleman. Members of Bill Finger’s family were also in attendance to help celebrate the naming, the location itself chosen due to it’s proximity to Poe Park, where it is said that Bill Finger and Bob Kane, Batman’s other co-creator, first collaborated on their iconic creation.
