DC has released the solicitations for the month of January 2015. January’s biggest announcement is probably the reveal of who will be taking up the mantle of Robin after the conclusion of Robin Rises: Alpha which comes at the beginning of the year marking the 75th Anniversary of the Boy Wonder. TBU reported on this reveal shortly after it was spoiled by writer Peter Tomasi ahead of the solicitation release. In other ongoing titles, Batman #38 still deals with the return of Joker as well as the series of backup stories about encounters with The Joker. Detective Comics #38 sees the continuation of Manapul and Buccellato’s new arc with Anarky and Batman gets infected with the Amazo Virus in the pages of Justice League #38. Additionally, we finally see the debut of Bluebird in Batman Eternal #42 although the solicitation for issue #42 and #43 promise a twist to the preview we got in Batman #28.
In addition to these titles dealing with the Dark Knight, Red Hood and the Outlaws #38 finds Jason taking Venom in order to save Starfire, crime boss Selina gets confronted by Batman in Catwoman #38, and Harley Quinn has a new love interest in Harley Quinn #14. Also, Mr Freeze arrives at the new Arkham facility in Arkham Manor #4, and we get a big confrontation between Batman, Batman Beyond, and Tim Drake in The New 52: Future’s End #38. Lastly, in alternate-Earth Batman news, Earth 2: World’s End #17 will focus on The Batman of Earth 2, Thomas Wayne, and his search for a cure for an infection from Apokolips.
All-in-all, January looks to be a huge month for DC and The Batman Universe as well. See the full list of solicitations below.
