Epix’s upcoming Batman prequel, Pennyworth, has cast actor Jason Flemyng as a new villain, Lord Harwood. Flemyng’s previous projects include The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Jamestown, and The Journey. The upcoming show will consist of ten one-hour episodes focused on the early days of Alfred Pennyworth and how he first met Bruce Wayne’s father, Thomas Wayne.
The previously announced addition of UK pop star Paloma Faith will be a partner to Lord Harwood and antagonist to Pennyworth and Wayne. The only information about the new villain is an upper-class Englishman and described as “cultured, urbane, brilliant and supremely sure of himself” with a “sadistic, cruel nature [with] a veneer of charm.”
Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller is executive producing in his second Batman prequel series. The series began production earlier this month and is expected to air sometime in 2019.
