In the continuing story of Warner Bros seeking big-name actors to appear in the upcoming Suicide Squad film, several online news sites are reporting that Jared Leto (who recently won the Oscar for his performance in Dallas Buyer’s Club) will be portraying the Joker but in Suicide Squad rather than in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Neither Leto or Warner Bros has commented yet on the reports but TheWrap cites an “individual familiar with the Warner Bros project” as their source.
Writer Justin Marks’ original draft of the Suicide Squad screenplay reportedly did not include the Joker, but TheWrap is reporting Ayer is expected to write another draft and is rumored to be writing in the Joker.
“Suicide Squad” is set to be released in 2016.
