Announced by David Madden, President of Fox Broadcasting, Gotham has been renewed for a third season.
“It takes a very special team to tell the tales of Gotham,” Fox Entertainment President David Madden said in a statement announcing the news. “For the past two seasons, [executive producers] Bruno [Heller], Danny [Cannon] and John [Stephens] have masterfully honored the mythology of Gotham and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama. This incredibly talented cast has redefined these iconic characters for a new generation, and we couldn’t be more proud of this show.”
The show has had it’s ups and downs since debuting back in fall of 2014, but the show maintains its ratings of which are some of the highest ratings for shows airing on the network. With debuts of Hugo Strange and Mr. Freeze already happening in the first few episodes back from the winter hiatus, the show promises many more surprises before closing out its second season in the coming months.
